Born 16/10/1928, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones 6/3/2019, Aged 90 years Beloved husband to Berice, father to Julie, Paul, Michael and Genevieve. Cherished grandfather of Amy, Carlie, Nick, Bridie and Sam. Great-grandfather to Harry, Arabella, Darcy, George and Sunny.
A savvy businessman, Mal was influential in shaping the auto industry of Australia by being the first to introduce Japanese cars in the 1960s with brother-in-law Bob Mitchell. Among his many Gold Coast-based business ventures, Mal founded organic health food store Mrs Flannery’s.
Mal was adored by all who met him and will be sincerely missed.
A funeral service to commemorate his life will be held in Mermaid Beach at Stella Maris Catholic Church, 11 am Monday 11th March 2019.
