The death of Alene O'Neill
occurred in
San Antonio, Texas, on
Tuesday 30th January 2018.

She was born in Sydney,
Australia on March 22, 1936
and had been married to
Bill O'Neill for 56 years.

She had lived in London on
two occasions, first in 1987-89
when her husband was
managing director of News
International and then again
in 1995 when he returned as
chief executive of the
company, controlling The
Times, Sunday Times, News of
the World, Today and The Sun.
She was predeceased in 2012
by her son, David, who had
been deputy production
manager of the San Antonio
Express-News and later
production director of the
New York Post.
She and her husband had a
home built in San Antonio in
1995 but continued to
commute to New York until he
retired in 2002 as executive
vice president of News
Corporation. She also
maintained a home in
Chatswood, New South Wales,
Australia.
She is survived in San Antonio,
by her husband, and
daughter Vicki.
