We asked Toowoomba locals on our Facebook page to recommend the best places to go in Toowoomba for a Sunday drive.

Here are their top five (in no particular order):

 

1. Queen Mary's Falls, Killarney

Danny and Desleigh Hughes recommended a Sunday drive to Queen Mary's Falls in Killarney. "So picturesque and a great cafe at the top!"

How to get there from Toowoomba: Drive 1 hour south on the New England Highway to Warwick; drive 40 minutes on Warwick-Killarney Road.

 

2. Glengallon Homestead

Veronica Turnell said: "Drive out to Glengallon Homestead when the markets are on and have a look at the restoration they have done to the house. Wonderful lunch at Nobby Rudds Pub but be hungry big meals and delicious."

3. Bell

Barbara McGovern suggested:  "A road trip west to Bell to visit the church murals and gardens and then relax with lunch at Pips and Cherries."

How to get there from Toowoomba: Drive 50 minutes north on the Warrego Highway to Dalby; turn right onto Bunya Highway drive for 40 minutes.

 

4. Murphy's Creek

Ashley Collard said: "It's an extremely short drive but I love that I get to travel the road from Blue Mountain Pub to Murphy's Creek. The view off the highway at Mt Kynoch/Blue Mountain and then the calming, bendy drive down the range with or goes views of the surrounding range."

How to get there from Toowoomba: Drive 10 minutes north on the New England Highway to the Blue Mountain Pub at Harlaxton; drive three minutes north on the New England; turn right onto Murphy's Creek Road and drive for 12 minutes.

 

5. Coomba Falls, Maidenwell
