Winter chill sets off alarms around Bundy

THE cold weather played havoc with alarms overnight.

It's believed the chilly air set off security alarms around Bundaberg.

A Bundaberg Police spokesman said 12 alarms had gone off in the 12-hour period from 6pm-6am.

On Sunday, Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Michelle Berry said the region's temps had been lower than average.

It has been colder than average across south-east Queensland with Kingaroy dropping below zero and widespread frost inland.
