Will Your Super Last Longer Than You?
One of the great concerns for retirees is whether their retirement savings will be enough for the rest of their lives.
And yet over 90% of retirees don't know if their super will last long enough. Australians in Retirement Gold Coast president, Mr Rob Grover, said: "Baby boomers moving into retirement these days can expect to live for 30 years or more. This can be a very satisfying phase of a person's life. But to a large extent this is dependent on whether their retirement money will last long enough. What if they run out of money at say age 75? What will their retirement lifestyle be like if they are then fully reliant on the meagre age pension?" Mr Grover said.
To address this serious problem, Australians in Retirement Gold Coast Branch will be hosting a free Baby Boomers forum. At this meeting professional speakers will demonstrate how retirees can calculate whether their superannuation is enough to meet their lifetime financial needs.
In addition, information will be provided on options available to extend retiree's finances.
For those retirees wishing to take personal control, advice will be provided on how to establish a self-managed superannuation fund.
For others who need assistance, a step by step process will be provided as to how to find a competent, independent financial adviser.
The meeting will be held at 9:30 am at the Broadbeach Seniors' Centre, 23 T E Peters Drive, (cnr Havana Keys), Broadbeach on Wednesday 2nd March.
All Gold Coast retirees are welcome to attend however due to space limitations seating can only be guaranteed to members of the public who register their attendance at email@example.com.
Australians in Retirement is the business name for The Association of Independent Retirees, the peak body representing the interests of retirees who are self -funded or in receipt of a part pension.
