RENOWNED comedian Wil Anderson gave Splendour punters a lot to think about after his informative and hilarious forum at the festival on Sunday.

Back by popular demand the comical force spoke of issues close to his heart, from same sex marriage and racism to how to get the most out of flying overseas.

Anderson entertained audiences in a Michael Parkinson-style chat show featuring former Jane’s Addiction, New Order, QOTSA and The Bunnymen manager and Lollapalooza co-founder Ted Gardner, The Grates front woman Patience Hodgson, Triple J’s Tom Ballard, Iain Shedden and Brisbane based artist Sebastian Moody.

Festival goers were given an inside look at what it is like to be in the public eye.

Singer-songwriter Patience from The Grates spoke of the ups and downs of her life in the music industry and how refreshed she felt after time away from Australia.

Much to the delight of fans she said she was back in Australia for good and more than happy with her decision.

For those wanting the backstage gossip on some ultra-famous bands, Ted Gardner was there to share all the secrets.

Including tales of “occasional overdoses” by members of Jane’s Addiction and which bands were the biggest divas.

Gardner said it had been a constant battle to make sure band members made it to the next show and he was glad to retire from that life.

Anderson kept the lines between the audience and panel open and gave ample opportunity for everyone to say their piece.

The main topics touched on were the digital age and what it meant to people in the industry, how best to pursue a career in comedy or music and how to stay true to yourself in a sometimes harsh and superficial industry.
