Widgee fires up for massive weekend of music, fun

WIDGEE Country Music Club kicks off a huge weekend of music and entertainment with a campfire concert tonight (Friday, October 21).

Join the crowd at the Widgee Bushmans Bar in Upper Widgee Rd for the campfire at 7pm and either set up camp for the weekend or head back Saturday and Sunday for two big days featuring local and international acts including Eagle Mountain String Band from Washington State, USA.

Tomorrow, all the young hopefuls will be lining up for the Webb Brothers Memorial Talent Quest, running from noon.

Entry is just $10 for the Junior section, up to 17 years, and $20 for the Open section which covers all age groups.

There are fabulous cash prizes up for grabs as well as some great musical equipment so come on out and have a go.

All nominations will be taken on the day.

Tomorrow night, get set to hear some great local performers along with Eagle Mountain String Band at 6pm followed by Brothers 3, making their return to Widgee's centre stage at 7pm, and The Point at 9.30.

Entry is just $10 per person and you can pay at the gate.

Sunday will see the usual walk-ups plus local entertainers and the Widgee Brothers back for another jam session, from 10am-noon.

The canteen will be open for cold drinks and snacks so bring the family and come along and join the jam at the Widgee Country Music Club Sunday Sesh.

Free entry on Sunday.

Camping is $8 for a powered site or $6 unpowered.
