NORTHERN Rivers Big Band in Concert Park Lane Theatre Saturday 22 October 2016.
Who's coming along for a swing dance with the very fabulous Northern Rivers Big Band?
Appearing in concert at the Park Lane Theatre in Lennox Head on Saturday 22 October commencing at 7.15 pm the evening will feature cabaret style tables and a big dance floor.
Band leader Royden Ainsworth will choose some great tunes such as George Gershwin's famous Strike up the Band and many of the very best foot-tapping moments in jazz history, like It Don't Mean a Thing by Duke Ellington, American Patrol by Glenn Miller, original New Orleans jazz with Muskat Ramble, One O'Clock Jump by Count Basie, a great arrangement of The Funky Chicken, and Golden Wedding by Woody Herman.
Vocalist Laura Nobel will perform tunes such as Skylark by Hoagy Charmichael and Almost Like Being in Love, and you'll be serenaded by Kristian Keogh's renditions of Come Fly With Me and Sway.
"We are excited to bring these classic and sublime melodies to a local audience; it is some of the best examples of music created in the 20th century.
It will be a real pleasure to experience the sound of a large big band performing the best arrangements ever produced, so we encourage everyone to tell their friends and share a table for a fantastic evening of entertainment," said Event Producer Sue Brennan.
