THE Nambour Community Centre is delivering a series of four interfaith conversations on the Coast, part of a project titled: Faith, Friends and Future. Each conversation will host a panel of speakers from Hindu, Islamic, Christian, Aboriginal and Buddhist traditions who will discuss aspects of their faith and lives, while answering questions from the audience. The inclusive and participatory nature of these events allows for a sincere exchange of dialogue, within a safe educational space. The Faith, Friends and Future conversations are among the first Interfaith Dialogue community events to be held on the Sunshine Coast. KATIE Rose Cottage Hospice and the Palmwoods Singers Theatrical Society will join forces on June 23, to present a gala performance of Love is in the Air. The singers visited the Doonan facility recently and are keen to raise money for this wonderful charity. Love is in the Air will be presented at the Palmwoods Memorial Hall, June 23 at 7pm. NOOSA MUSIC SOCIETY
ON SUNDAY, June 24 at 4.30pm, the Noosa Music Society presents the Australian String Quartet in concert at the Good Shepherd Lutheran College Chapel in Noosaville. For over 30 years, the ASQ has created unforgettable performances across Australia. This year, their 2018 national tour program includes collaboration with some of the country's finest artists and the Noosa Music Society has been successful in engaging the ASQ for a performance on the Sunshine Coast. A KALEIDOSCOPE OF SOUND
THE Sunshine Coast Choral Festival, which has been an annual entertainment event since 2004, will be held at the Lake Kawana Community Centre 114 Sportsmans Parade, Bokarina on Saturday, June 9 from 1.30-4.30pm. Ten of the premier Choruses of the Sunshine Coast and Hinterland will present a Kaleidoscope of Sound. With Master of Ceremonies Ken O'Flaherty this dynamic festival will feature a wide variety of singing including classical choral music, jazz, gospel and world music. The singing at this highly popular festival will appeal to all music tastes. Included among this year's choirs are the Sunshine Statesmen, the only all male a'capella choir on the Sunshine Coast. They sing 4 part close harmonies. The Statesmen's repertoire ranges from classic ballads to up tempo numbers. They are directed by Brian Martin a Sunshine Coast musical identity. The festival will conclude with the powerful voices of the massed choir sharing a feast of uplifting songs concluding with Handel's Hallelujah Chorus directed by Brian Martin, a treat not to be missed.
