DON'T Blame It on the Boogie because You Can't Stop The Music. Relive some of the greatest hits of the '60s, '70s and '80s with Australia's biggest Motown party at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre on Tuesday, January 15. The Jacksons (with original members Jermaine, Jackie, Tito and Marlon), Kool & the Gang, The Pointer Sisters and Village People headline this jam-packed event. GALAPOGUS Duck is a name synonymous with jazz, having entertained audiences for nearly 50 years, and they are the grand finale to Southport Bowls Club's four-day, live jazz event from Friday, January 18. Starting the event are Rydian Lewis and the Residuals, one of the most well-recognised local swing and jazz artists on the Gold Coast. Miss Mandy Swings transports audiences to the 1940s with her performance on Saturday. GOLD Coast Music Award's 2018 Best Live Act Mason Rack Band headlines the celebrations this Australia Day at Broadwater Parklands. The free event on Saturday, January 26 provides fun for the whole family, including live music from local artists, a range of food vendors, the JJ Richards Aussie Activities Zone, beach volleyball and mini Commonwealth Games for grandkids.
