SUMMERTIME SESSIONS

ENJOY free live music on Friday nights at the Summertime Sessions 2018-19 series, every Friday from 5.30-7.30pm until December 7 at Cuddihy Park, Mudgeeraba. THIS FRAGILE EARTH

THIS is your chance to take a walk through the Endangered Plant Trail and discover the interesting history of the Gold Coast's Botanic Gardens. It's on from 10-11am on Wednesday, November 14 at the gardens.

AUTHOR ENCOUNTER

MEET Fiona McIntosh, best-selling author of The Tea Gardens, as she talks about her new blockbuster The Pearl Thief at Robina Library from 7-8pm on Wednesday, November 14. In the book, Severine Kassel is asked by the Louvre in 1963 to aid the British Museum with curating its antique jewellery, her specialty.

FARM AID LUNCHEON

YOU can help farming families and hear award-winning Australian author, journalist and television presenter George Negus at this fundraising lunch in support of drought-stricken farmers, hosted by the Rotary Club of Nerang on Friday, November 23.

WHITE RIBBON DAY

BOND University is hosting a special White Ribbon charity fundraising event on Sunday, November 25. BEACHCARE

You can make a difference during Coast Care Week by going out to free community dune planting activities with BeachCare and caring for your local beach, removing invasive weeds and picking up litter. All equipment is supplied. Just bring a bottle of water, wear enclosed shoes and sun smart clothing.

BROADBEACH CHRISTMAS CAROLS

IT'S A tradition ... getting to Pratten Park, Broadbeach, as early as possible to nab your spot for the annual Broadbeach Christmas Carols from 3pm on Saturday, December 8.

There's a host of children's activities and the carols themselves start from 6pm, with this year's guests including Martin Crewes and Danielle Everett, as well as, of course, Santa, and a spectacular fireworks display. GOLD Coast City Choir promises its Christmas concerts this year are full of beautiful and fun Christmas songs that have some surprises and interesting twists. They are the largest mixed-voice community choir in the region singing four-part harmony, so you are guaranteed a good listen and sing-along.

The first concert is 2-3.30pm at Twin Towns Uniting Church, Coolangatta, on Sunday, December 9.
