AFTER moving to the sunny Gold Coast in 2015, the Australian Open has become a true festival of bowls, with 14 days of action played across the 15 host clubs. More than 2000 bowlers from across Australia, and indeed the world, are expected to attend again, with entry being completely open to any registered bowler.
Not only is the Australian Open the world's biggest bowls festival, it is also the richest bowls event in the world with a staggering total of more than $250,000 prizemoney. Competition days are from June 9-22 at 169 Surf Parade, Broadbeach.

RAPIDLY becoming one of the Gold Coast's iconic community events, Yoga Day Festival is a fun, free celebration of the United Nations International Yoga Day.
Saturday, June 16 is a day we come together to honour all things yoga, while expressing our heartfelt gratitude for the light and joy that yoga brings to our personal lives and humanity at large. CELEBRATE the special 40th edition of the Gold Coast Marathon and run for the good times! The world-class international marathon is set to attract more than 27,000 participants in eight races including the Gold Coast Marathon, Wheelchair Marathon, ASICS Half Marathon, Wheelchair 15km, Southern Cross University 10km Run, Gold Coast Airport Fun Run and the Garmin 4km and 2km Junior Dash on June 30 and July 1 at Broadwater Parklands, Southport.

THE TV Week Logie Awards (the Logies) are an annual event celebrating Australian television. Established in 1960, the Logies have been held predominantly in Melbourne, Victoria, with the Gold Coast now the event's new home. The awards ceremony includes national and international entertainment and is broadcast free to air on Channel 9.

BOOTS & BLUES
ROOTS, Boots & Blues is a free exciting new festival happening at the Broadwater Parklands on Saturday, July 14. It is a free family event including six hours of international and local musical artists, dance, international foods, rides, games and song contest.
