The Wharf Mooloolaba is turning 30

GRAB the grandkids and head to The Wharf Mooloolaba to join in its 30th birthday with SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast on August 24th and 25th.

The weekend party will include free activities for kids and grandparents including a giant super slide, face painting, jumping castle, reptile display as well as free stand up paddle boarding and kayaking at Sunreef Mooloolaba, free river cruises with Coastal Cruises Mooloolaba as well as aerial skills acrobat displays from Just Acrobatics.

For the less energetic there are a huge range of choices in places to kick back and enjoy lunch and dinner, or for coffee, and for an afternoon ice cream.

There will also be live music and other performances as well as a very special fireworks display at 7pm on Saturday night.

The Wharf Mooloolaba co-owner Dirk Long said it has been a very big few years for the precinct, so they are looking forward to everyone coming together to relax and enjoy activities birthday weekend.

"The whole Wharf has been fully renovated," Mr Long said. "It's great to see so many people coming back and enjoying the area and everything we have on offer."

SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast Regional General Manager Quinn Clarke said the celebration was a great opportunity to look back at the past, and also celebrate the future.

"Our aquarium is ever changing and evolving, and we have some exciting new developments coming later in the year so it's a great time to celebrate," Mr Clarke said.

"All weekend, we will have kids go free pricing at SEA LIFE throughout that weekend - with kids getting in free (one child per paying adult) with tickets to be purchased at the SEA LIFE ticket desk over the weekend."

Mr Long said the celebrations were also an opportunity to look back on the precinct's history.

"We want to hear about people's memories and see photos of everyone enjoying the precinct over the years - and we're sure Sammy the Seal will feature - he is synonymous with both The Wharf Mooloolaba and SEA LIFE Sunshine Coast and he has had more than his fair share of kisses over the years."
