Western Downs Reg Council seeks nominees for Australia Day Awards

DO YOU know of someone in the community who has made a positive contribution? Is there an unsung hero among your acquaintances that could do with some recognition?

If so, have you ever thought of lodging a nomination for an Australia Day award?

Western Downs Regional Council is currently seeking nominees for the 2016 awards. Some of the categories include Citizen of the Year, Senior Cultural Award, Community Project/Event of the year and the Sports Administrator/Coach/Official Award.

Nomination forms are available at all Customer Service Centres in the Western Downs region, Western Downs Libraries and via the council's website http://www.wdrc.qld.gov.au. Nominations close 5pm, Tuesday December 1, 2015.

For those living outside the Western Downs region, similar award ceremonies are being organised by the Toowoomba Regional Council, phone 131 872, Lockyer Valley Regional Council, phone 1300 005 872 and the Southern Downs Regional Council, phone 1300 697 372.
