WE had the full baker's dozen in yesterday's Photo of the Day poll and it was Di Lymbury's brilliant image of a confrontation between lorikeets that secured the bulk of the vote.

Di named the image Gate Crashers Not Welcome at Our Pool Party.

"These scaly breasted lorikeets seem to be having words to the only rainbow lorikeet that showed up at our bird bath," she posted with the photo.

Di's image picked up 36% of the vote in a field of 13 images - more than double the number of votes received by its nearest rival - a remarkable image of a sea eagle with a freshly-caught bream, submitted by Jason Beard.

Photo of the Day celebrates the beauty of the Northern Rivers and the talent of its people.

As well as appearing here, the Photo of the Day appears on our website and as the cover image on our Facebook page.

To contribute, simply share your image to our Facebook page.

To have a say on which image is selected, vote in our weekday poll, which you will find at the bottom of our Photo of the Day story on our website.

We  have another amazing selection of images to choose from today. Eight all up.

Have a look and pick your favourite.

Voting closes at noon.
