WATCH: Couple rescued from sinking $600,000 boat
VOLUNTEER Marine Rescue Hervey Bay was called to help after a 13 metre power cat worth about $600,000 ran aground.
It is believed a low tide carried the vessel on to a seabed after being anchored overnight Monday.
Jill Barclay, vice commodore of VMR Hervey Bay said when the owner tried to pull anchor, he was unable to drive off the sand.
Unfavourable conditions caused the catamaran to slam onto the seabed cracking the side of a hull and allowing water into the vessel.
VRM was called to rescue two people.

The two occupants and owners of the vessel were taken safely back to Urangan Boat Harbour.
Another vessel called Black Magic assisted the crew in danger in the early hours of Monday.
Ms Barclay said one side of the vessel is completely sunk and it will be very difficult to salvage.
VMR were called to the incident at Rooneys Point, off Fraser Island.
