VIDEO: Noosa Festival of Surfing - highlight of every year

SENIORS News editor Gail Forrer visited this year's Noosa Festival of Surfing which she has done many years in the past, but this year was all about relaxing and enjoying the company of like-minded Noosa locals.

This year the festival celebrated its 25th anniversary and it shaped up to be bigger and better than ever before.

Unprecedented numbers flocked to sign up before the week-long event, showing a 60 per cent increase on former years.

This year showed an increased number of support from regional, national and international sponsors for the event. The festival saw the very welcome return of several long-standing brands, as well as local businesses and global entities, including Sydney-based Garage Handplanes and Noosa's own Underground Surf and Coffee Shop.

View some footage from Gail below that shows the start of the Stand Up Paddle-boarding event.
