LOCAL ART ON SHOW: The Buderim Craft Cottage President, Jan Nelson with a painting by Jenni Saunders.

THE Buderim Craft Cottage is thrilled to open an eye catching exhibition featuring original art from over 40 of its Painting Group members on Friday, May 19.

The exhibition will be on view daily until Wednesday, May 24 between 10am and 2pm.

This highly regarded group look forward to sharing their vibrant oil, watercolour and acrylic paintings with the local community and hope to inspire others to take up paintbrush and palette.

The Art Expo theme this year is Vibrant Stories with group members drawing inspiration from the intense colours of Queensland.

The Cottage celebrates its 50th year in 2017 and President Jan Nelson is delighted by the creative talent and effort cottage members are putting into their work in this landmark year.

"Our Painting Group has grown to over 50 members, including both artists of long standing, and up and coming artists," Ms Nelson said.

"Art Expo will reflect the huge range of interest and technique in a group of this size, who not only exhibit together but also share studio space at the Cottage, and generously share their ideas with each other"

The exhibition will be held at the Buderim Craft Cottage, 5 Main Street, Buderim.

Entry is free and all work will be available for sale.
