U.S Government to call for Mexico border wall designs
A SHORT notice issued on a United States federal government business opportunities site shows the Trump administration is moving ahead fast with its plan to build a wall along the U.S-Mexico border.
The Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection announced it would open submissions for concept wall designs on March 6.
Businesses will have just four days to submit a concept for "prototype wall structures" to be built along an unspecified stretch of the border.
They'll then have another fortnight to submit full plans to the government.
The notice was posted on February 24, local time.
President Donald Trump made the controversial wall a key part of his anti-immigration election campaign.
It has been a source of tention between the two countries since Trump took power and caused Mexican president
Enrique Peña Nieto to cancel a planned meeting with Trump in January.
