U3A offers series of talks on planning for later life
IT IS called Planning for Later Life, but it could be called "almost everything you need to know about growing older".
It has been designed by a senior for seniors and it is coming to a venue near you.
A series of presentations on various topics, Planning for Later Life is being offered by Coffs Harbour U3A in first and second terms 2017.
The first lecture will be held from 2-4pm on February 7 and then weekly on Tuesday afternoons.
"I am aware that many people are either in denial about or apathetic about some very important issues when reaching later life, or they may be 'gonna do that later," course co-ordinator and community activist, Jill Nash said.
Jill celebrated her 77th birthday on Tuesday, January 31.
"I am assembling a team of specialist speakers, and am very thrilled by their willingness to participate."
Topics covered in Planning for Later Life include: personal administration and record-keeping;
financial matters (pensions, superannuation, tax, Centrelink, insurance); accommodation options (own home, residential care, support services available, conditions for choosing any model), health management and much more.
