Two killed in ute crash may have been drag racing

VICTORIAN police believe two people who died in a ute crash in Melbourne's north-west may have been drag racing.

The ute plunged off the EJ Whitten Bridge, in Keilor East, about 1.30am.

Police said the ute and another car were travelling about 160kmh over the bridge when the ute crashed into a barrier before landing in a deep gully and bursting into flames.

Police have called for the driver of the other car - believed to be a silver Ford sedan - to come forward.
