1. 2017 SAND SAFARI ARTS FESTIVAL

Until February 26: The festival takes centre stage on the sands and streets of Surfers Paradise. The popular free event draws thousands of spectators to admire intricately carved life-sized masterpieces inspired by the theme Mermaids and Mythical Creatures. The awe-inspiring creations are each carved from 10 tonnes of sand. With so much on offer, families can choose to stay at one of the region's many quality accommodation options, taking advantage of convenient public transport to Sand Safari, or parking is available at Bruce Bishop carpark, located just 500m from the beach. Unitl April 9: Works by world-renowned urban artists Banksy and Bambi feature in the Signs of the Time street art exhibition developed by Gold Coast City Gallery. Signs of the Time brings a major collection of street art exclusively to the Gold Coast including international, national and local urban artists from the collection of Ken McGregor and commissioned work by Gold Coast City Gallery. Sunday, February 19: Make a date for a cure this Valentine's Day weekend at Cupid's Undie Run on the Gold Coast - where a little crazy meets a lot of charity. The run is a national charity event organised by Children's Tumour Foundation that aims to raise awareness and funds for research into eurofibromatosis (NF), which is a genetic condition that affects one in every 3000 people. Join us for a party at Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club, cnr Goodwin Terrace and Gold Coast Highway, Burleigh Heads, starting at midday with a fun 1.5km beach run at 2pm.
