Man allegedly too drunk to plead to drink-driving charge

A MAN who tried to plead guilty to drink-driving was turned away from court yesterday morning because he was allegedly too drunk.

Daryl John Pollock appeared in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court to plead guilty to his drink-driving and unlicensed driving charges.

Police prosecutor Senior Constable Jeanette Grigoris immediately told the court she had concerns about Pollock's ability to enter a plea.

Snr Const Grigoris believed the man was intoxicated as he smelled strongly of liquor and his speech was slurred.

Magistrate Graham Hillan agreed and adjourned the matter until May 16.
