Time capsule release to unearth past
REVEALING the contents of a 25 year old time capsule will be one of the highlights of next month's Kulpi State School centenary activities.
It's part of a busy full-day program on Saturday August 8 that begins with the gates opening at 9am and activities following at 9.30am.
Old fashioned games such as sack races, and egg and spoon races, will entertain the younger set with the unveiling of the school's centenary mosaic, past and present school displays and catching up with friends sure to make an impression with the adults.
The school's current students will show visitors how the school has changed and improved since the 75th anniversary when there wasn't an undercover area for rainy days or a resource centre equipped with a modern classroom and adjoining kitchen.
Those with a connection to Kulpi State School will have the opportunity to purchase and design pavers to commemorate their history with the school.
Additionally, a 196 page centenary book produced by a dedicated team of volunteers will be available for collection on the day.
The publication documents the history of the school and includes interesting anecdotes and photos that will revive a raft of memories.
People are invited to pre-order their $25 copy via the Kulpi State School P&C facebook page and the related Centenary event page at https://www.facebook.com/kulpistateschoolpandc or contact Kulpi State School on 07 4692 8239.
