The Sheik from Scrubby Creek is coming to town

THE third annual Gwandalan Country Music Festival will be staged on Saturday, January 14, at the Gwandalan Bowling Club on the picturesque foreshore of Lake Macquarie.

This one-day community event caters for all the family, and is made possible by the generous support of The Gwandalan Bowling Club.

The Gwandalan Country Music Festival will be hosted by multi-award winning artists Dianne Lindsay and husband, Peter Simpson.

The line-up includes Golden Guitar winner Gina Jeffreys and the one and only "Sheik of Scrubby Creek" Chad Morgan; cowboy sensation Roo Arcus, recently returned from Cruisin' Country; Peter Coad, The Coad Sisters and Jim Hermel, an extremely talented and versatile group; bush balladeer Dale Duncan; Slim "Redback on the Toilet Seat" Newton; Charley Boyter, lead guitarist for Slim Dusty for many years; Golden Guitar instrumentalist/ entertainer Steve Passfield and more.

Noel Smith will also have his Tex Morton Exhibition Touring Truck on display.

Tex Morton is widely acclaimed as the father of country music in Australia and the truck is filled with Tex's memorabilia.

This wonderful day's entertainment will commence in the Gwandalan Bowling Club at 8am with a Poet's Breakfast featuring Dave Proust and special guest.

Start the day off with a touch of comedy and a hot breakfast, all for $10, bookings essential.

Coastal Bootscooters perform on the foreshore between 10 and 11am.

The main stage entertainment commences at 11am and evening entertainment in the Gwandalan Bowling Club from 5pm with the talented Beggs Brothers.

Camping is available with food and drinks. Bring your own chair.
