Was the Queen secretly trolling Trump?
WHEN it comes to the Queen's attire, there are rarely any accidents.
So the reigning monarch's decision to incorporate one minor - but crucial - accessory into her outfit on the day she met the US President and First Lady has left plenty of people convinced she was throwing some sneaky shade.
In a Twitter thread which has since gone viral, @SamuraiKnitter pointed out that Queen Elizabeth II's choice in brooches during Donald Trump's time in England last week spoke volumes.
On the day he arrived in the UK, she donned a beautiful vintage green flower brooch - which happened to be a gift to her from former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. The American-made accessory was crafted in 1950, and is made from 14-karat yellow gold, diamonds, and moss agate.
The Twitter user, called Julie in her bio, also noted that the Queen deliberately chose the most "sentimental" piece in her collection - a personal present from the Obamas, not one of the many state gifts she's been given by the US over the years.
The US has given QE jewelry before over the years and I bet her dresser could put hands on any and all of it given five minutes. But she chose the most SENTIMENTAL piece in the collection, the one that was given OUT OF FRIENDSHIP WITH THE OBAMAS AS PEOPLE.

On the President's last day in the UK, she debuted the Sapphire Jubilee Brooch - given to her just last year as a special gift from Canada - in what some have speculated was a show of support for the nation and its leader Justin Trudeau, who has suffered constant criticism from Mr Trump.
But that wasn't the only potential shade thrown at the Trumps. In another thread, Julie pointed out that the brooch may actually have been just the tip of the iceberg.
"Royal-level state dinners have been held in Europe in a form we recognise today for at least 1500 years," she wrote, before referring to the dinner hosted for the Trumps by Prime Minister Theresa May during their visit.
" … Usually state dinners are at invitation of the head of state. Normally Queen [Elizabeth] offers the invitation, in consultation with parliament and all those guys.
"Queen E was not at the state dinner with Trump."

"Also? The dinner was held at Blenheim. The only actual palace in England that is not owned by the Anglican Church or the Royal Family," Julie added.
"In short: The Queen wouldn't let Trump into her house."
It follows reports that Prince Charles and Prince William left the Queen to meet Mr Trump on her own after they refused to take part in his tour of the UK.
According to The Sun, they told her they did not want to get involved in his four-day visit. However, Buckingham Palace responded that as his trip was a "guest-of-government" visit, additional members of the royal family weren't required to show up.
A source told the paper the pair "simply refused" to attend the meeting and added: "This business of Prince Charles and Prince William not being there for the Trump visit was a snub.
"It's a very, very unusual thing for the Queen to be there on her own. Usually she is accompanied by somebody."
