The freshest new business on the Southern Downs
WARWICK'S iconic Jumpers and Jazz Festival will be bursting with freshness this year as a new champion of local produce, Sourced Southern Downs Flavours, joins the party.
Created as a platform to promote the Southern Downs region's produce, Sourced will treat festival goers to the freshest and most delicious food, wine and flavours in a laid back, café style atmosphere. There'll be opportunity to sample some 'street-food' and watch the Festival fun pass by, as well as shopping for goodies to savour at home.
Sourced is being delivered by local agri-tourism champion and food-lover Amy Walker, of the wife creative, who is passionate about spreading the word on this region's bounty.
"My roles in the local tourism, events and food network sectors have inspired me to pursue my love for promoting seasonal, regional produce and I'm very excited to be collaborating to deliver this new element to this year's Jumpers and Jazz in July Festival," said Mrs Walker.
Backed by the Southern Downs Regional Council, a proud supporter of local farmers and producers of quality food and beverage products, Southern Downs Mayor Tracy Dobie believes the Sourced Markets will showcase the region's wholesome wares and diverse produce and products to visitors.
"Visitors to the markets will be able to feast on the delicious fresh produce and experience the exceptional quality of products available in the region," Cr Dobie said.
"By encouraging our local farmers and producers to participate in these markets, council envisages that they will develop a loyal following of consumers from, not only the Southern Downs region, but also from the wider South East Queensland and Northern NSW communities.
