Surgery date set to remove toddler's brain tumour
THE family of Braxton Rayner, who is battling a brain tumour, is overjoyed that a date has been set for surgery.
His mother Kirsten Rayner announced the two-year-old would be having surgery on November 19.
Neurosurgeon Dr Charles Teo will undertake surgery on the brave toddler whose tumour has aggressively spread throughout his brain.
"We would like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has shown support towards Braxton, people who have made donations big or small and to the people that have shared their stories about Dr Teo," Mrs Rayner said.
"If it wasn't for all your support, donations and stories, we wouldn't have known what the future would've have held for Braxton."
She said the surgery would be risky.
"Braxton will change but we hope that he makes a full recovery after it.
"This surgery will buy Braxton more time and give him a proper diagnosis so he can be treated with the right chemo.
"This is only the beginning for Braxton but with everyone's help we now have a fighting chance to beat this.
"Thanks again to everyone who has helped in any type of way, we appreciate it so much," she said.
