LET'S face it, most of us would rather do just about do anything else than spend a few hours ironing.

So, if you'd like to ditch the ironing board forever, you just need to follow this one very simple trick. Really.

Simply place two or three ice cubes into your dryer, placing it on high heat for a few minutes, and those pesky the wrinkles in your clothes should completely iron out.

The simple life hack has been tested by numerous people online and it works.

But why?

Apparently, when the ice melts in the dryer's heat, it obviously turns into into water, which then turns into steam, doing exactly the same job your iron would.

So your dryer is effectively steaming your clothes - who knew?

Also, online ironing boffins suggest not overfilling your dryer when trying out ice cube trick.

So chuck in a couple of shirts or maybe a pair of pants.

Other non-ironing rules include hanging your clothes up as soon as you get them out of the dryer, but we all knew that, right?

A less obvious trick is using exactly the amount of detergent suggested on the bottle, so don't go under on the soap or overboard, for that matter.

Then there's the hairdryer method to get rid of wrinkles or wiping down a crinkled shirt with a damp towel.

For soft linen and towels, vinegar is your friend, because, according to a Facebook group dedicated to such things, it "works better and doesn't smell".

"An Oprah episode said to use a quarter of what is recommended on the detergent packaging and a scoop of bicarb and a dash of vinegar," another said.

Cleaning experts have also suggested that salt in your laundry will help to make the colours more vibrant.
