Chill settles over Toowoomba as winter approaches

WITH temperatures starting to drop, autumn is well and truly here.

It's not that we expect warm weather in April, but with the recent above average temperatures it has been easy to keep the heater off.

But with the cooler temperatures settling in, people may be starting to turn up the thermostat.

When residents were paying their respects yesterday morning at the Dawn Service the temperature was a chilly 11.7 degrees but it felt like 8.8 degrees, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.

The maximum temperature reached 21.8 degrees but with the wind factor it felt like 15 degrees.

The autumn bite can also be felt this morning with a low of 13 degrees.

With the maximum temperature predicted to be 23 degrees.

Temperatures will be similar all week with a medium chance of showers tomorrow, Thursday and Friday.
