YOUR STORY: On July 31, I held a fundraising event called BASSDROP.

Bassdrop is an all schools social for all public and private school students from Years 7-12 across the Darling Downs and Toowoomba regions.

I organised and held the event as a national finalist for Teen Face of the Globe Australia, an international beauty pageant.

All the funds raised on the night went to the chosen charity Rainbow Child Foundation who supply clean drinking water, food and sanitation to third world villages.

It was amazing to see the support from over 530 high school students!!

The hall was dark and the laser lights were flashing creating a spectacular awe of colour.

DJ Adam Skurrie pumped out incredible beats and the teenagers were all jumping and dancing in time creating a sea of people.

Smoke machines and Kloud9ine entertainment filled the hall with an indescribable atmosphere, transforming it into a place of bass.

Everyone had a fantastic night and the event was a huge success raising $6,400 for the Rainbow Child Foundation. Such a terrific effort!!

The night was great fun with the support of Kloud9ine Toowoomba who generously gave out over 50 free passes on the night and also helped.

MC Dakota Perry from Kloud9ine was amazing and got the crowd pumped up and having an awesome time.

A massive thanks to all the helpers and security guards who helped keep everyone safe and secure on the night .

The Centenary Heights State High School assembly hall was the perfect venue.

It is not long now until I head off to compete in the national finals for Face of the Globe Australia in Melbourne later this month and I believe, as a 16 year old teenage girl, I have done Toowoomba and my local community, as well as the Rainbow Child Foundation, proud.

We hope to hold more BASSDROP all schools socials on a term basis to raise funds for selected charities each time because there is nothing that feels more personally successful than being able to give money to well-deserving and in-need charities, as well as creating a fun and safe environment for all the teens of Toowoomba.
