Tattoo for a cause: Raising money for the Hear and Say centre

My Daughter Ella is a graduate of the Hear and Say Center's Outreach program. She would not be doing as well as she is if it wasn't for the hard work and dedication of the Hear and Say Center.

Ella currently wears a beautiful pink cochlear implant on her right and a blue hearing aid with a bright red mould on her left. As her hearing continues to decline, we have started preparing ourselves for a second surgery to give her another cochlear implant. As parents, it's difficult to watch your child go through something like this but for Ella, the problem is much greater, What colour to choose? It's a hard choice!

Ella is becoming aware that she is a little different to look at and asks me why people stare at her, I try to tell her it's because they think her ears are cool, they don't see many people with colourful aids and also because if people aren't affected by hearing loss, they simply don't understand.

I have decided to get a Cochlea Tattoo, to show Ella it's nothing to be ashamed of and to hopefully get people asking questions so i can tell them how much Ella's life has improved with the help of the Hear and Say Center.

Once $5000 is reached I will get a cochlear tattoo to match my daughter.

Only 30% of funding the Hear and Say receive is government funding, the rest is fundraising so please help continue the
great work of the Hear and Say Center!
