Be merry and make new friends on pre-Christmas tour
MAKE international friends while enjoying the fruits of southern wineries when you join in the Arblaster & Clarke pre-Christmas tour through Victoria and Tasmania.
The tour is to be led by Sarah Ahmed, the author of The Wine Detective and named Honorary Australian Woman in Wine at the 2017 Australian Women in Wine Awards.
Guests will travel from England to join with the Australian guests for the nine-day tour which takes in the Yarra Valley, Southern Tasmania and the Mornington Peninsula.
You will sample single-vineyard Pinots, award-winning Chardonnays and rich Bordeaux blends. On the Mornington Peninsula, the Burgandian-style Pinot Noir comes into its own alongside fresh, apple-peel whites.
Hobart will be the perfect base from which to explore the emerging regions of the island. The stunning amphora-aged reds, crisp sparkling wines and sultry, suave whites produced here are sure to leave you with a favourite new wine region that stays with you long after this tour ends.
On the list of experiences are visits to Quealy Wines, 10 Minutes by Tractor, Ocean Eight, Eldridge Estate of Red Hill, Crittenden Estate, a special dinner and tasting at the Paringa Estate, Yarra Yering, Oak Ridge Winery, Mac Forbes Winery, Giant Steps, De Bortoli Estate, Jamsheed, an elegant dinner at Château Yering, Home Hill Estate, Derwent Estate, Stefano Lubiana Wines, the Glaetzer-Dixon Winery, Moorilla Winery, and an option visit to Sullivan's Cove whiskey distillery.
There is also a visit to the Healesville Sanctuary and an exclusive dinner where the group will be joined for the meal by a prominent local wine producer.
The tour costs $9000 which includes nine nights accommodation, all breakfasts, six lunches and dinners with wine, plus visits and tastings.
The ground section of the tour will be run from November 29 through to December 7, 2018.
