Support local artists, galleries

With Christmas approaching, now is the time to support your local arts industry.

Did you know that artists are among the most talented and creative but worst-paid individuals in Australia?

With a few notable exceptions, most exist below the average wage and many below the poverty line.

When you buy a piece of art, you receive something unique and individual - something that no one else has.

But more than that, you support creative people and keep them enthused about their work.

Many of our public and private galleries have exhibitions in place for Christmas and the holiday season.

Most galleries will be open throughout December and January, so on a day when it is raining or even too hot for the beach, check out some of the inspirational talent in an art gallery.

You will be pleasantly surprised to see the diversity on show.

And with a selection of more than 40 art galleries in the greater Sunshine Coast region, you can't miss finding an enjoyable exhibition or something you will treasure for the rest of your life.

The easiest way to discover the art galleries is to visit the Sunshine Coast Art Gallery Trail website at www.sunshinecoast artgallerytrail.com.au.
