Support for carers

Australia's 2.7 million unpaid carers now have access to greater supports with the introduction of the Australian Government's Carer Gateway.

Providing practical information and advice, Carer Gateway connects carers with local support services.

Services include support planning, counselling, peer support, financial packages and emergency respite.

It's free to access for anyone caring for a family member or friend who is living with a disability, mental health condition, chronic health condition, terminal illness, or is frail aged. Wellways Australia is the chosen service provider of Carer Gateway services throughout Queensland.

Wellways has been working with carers for the past 40 years and since services began, has recognised that carers require support in their own right.

If you provide support to a family member or friend, then you can register.

Phone 1800 422 737 or go to www.carergateway.gov.au.
