Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show takes the cake

THE Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show is renowned for its cookery section and Steward Beverley Bradford of the Obi Obi is an advocate for the quality of entries while encouraging anyone interested in wishing to 'have a go' in the cookery section, to do so.

For Show patrons who may not be up to entering this year, Beverley is suggesting they partake in the new "Take the Cake" competition.

Beverley said, "All show patrons need to do is put their contact details and name of their favourite cake on a ticket and into a barrel.

This way we'll get to know what people's preferred cakes are and the winning entry will receive a morning tea voucher from 'Husk and Honey' gluten-free, grain-free cafe in Howard Street, Nambour".

With only two weeks to go to the Show, Beverley asks people to put their thinking caps on so they can enter the "Take the Cake" competition in the cookery section of the Main Pavilion.

Also to peruse just what it takes to enter the cookery section by going to the Competitions section of the Show website at

Beverley will be speaking with Todd and Sami at the 92.7 Mix FM outdoor broadcast on Friday morning between 9am and 12 Noon, testing Todd's taste buds with one of her healthy cookery creations.

Over the three days of the Show, Beverley will also be sharing top prize winning recipes with show patrons along with facilitating a 'master class' of sorts in the cookery section on Sunday June 12 from 10am-3pm where any baking questions can be answered by Beverley or other stewards.

Beverley is also excited to announce that Lorinda Rogers of 'Ideas in Icing' will again be making an appearance on Saturday and Sunday between 10am-3pm.

Anticipating fine weather, the Show Society is looking forward to crowds taking advantage of the affordable prices being only $10 per adult, $5 for 5-12 years and under 5 Free.

Pre-Purchase your tickets to the Show to go into the draw to win a $500 visa gift card! Thanks to Heritage Bank for their partnership.

Tickets can be purchased at the Nambour Showgrounds Show office or at any Heritage Bank branch on the Sunshine Coast!

The Sunshine Coast Agricultural Show runs June 10-12 at the Nambour Showgrounds.
