SUMMER is a spectacular time to cruise on South Australia's Murray River. Known for its Mediterranean climate, summer brings beautiful blue skies, combined with cooling river breezes.

What better way to enjoy the delights of summer than on a Murray Princess Captain Cook Cruise?

Over summer the Murray Princess offers a range of three, four and seven-night cruises, including a special three-night New Year's Eve Cruise departs on Friday 29th December 2017 and a special four-night Australia Day Cruise departs Friday 26th January 2018.

The historic 3, 4 and 7 night cruises start with the vessel itself, the PS Murray Princess. Finished with polished wood and gold trimmings and featuring two winding staircases, full-length windows looking out onto the paddlewheel in motion, the Murray Princess replicates the paddlewheelers that first cruised the Murray in the 1800's.

Cruises depart from Mannum, an 80-minute drive from Adelaide with each cruise offering a different itinerary and variety of activities. Visit historic ports like Swan Reach, Murray Bridge or Morgan, enjoy guided river nature walks, learn about Aboriginal history at Ngaut, Ngaut Aboriginal reserve, experience a real sheep station at the Sunnydale Woolshed Show and see rescued animals at a native wildlife shelter.

Visit vineyards and cellar doors and get up close to the river, its 20-million-year-old cliffs and amazing plant and birdlife on an eco-excursion aboard the 'Dragon-Fly' flat-bottomed boat cruise.

Join the Captain for a general inspection of the wheelhouse, participate in lively quiz games, play some bocce on the riverbank or relax with some fishing off the vessel.

Food is another highlight of the cruise. Indulge a hearty hot buffet breakfast each morning, a two-course or buffet lunch each day and a three-course or buffet dinner each evening. There is a spectacular Captain's dinner and dance to enjoy and even an Aussie-style barbecue dinner and bush dance on the river bank.

All cruise prices include accommodation, all meals, guided nature walks, eco-excursions, onboard presentations, onboard free Wi-Fi, the Captain's Dinner and Dance and live entertainment. Complimentary scenic coach transfers from and to Adelaide or secure car parking in Mannum and post cruise coach transfer to Adelaide airport.
