58-year-old steals show at Melbourne Fashion Week
PROVING that age is merely a number, a stunning 58-year-old has stolen the limelight at Melbourne Fashion Week.
Lou Kenny, who is one of Australia's most in-demand mature-age models, shone on Premium Runway 1 during Vogue Australia's show on Wednesday.
Standing at 179cm tall with grey-hair and piercing blue eyes, Lou, who is a size 10 and represented by Scoop Management, received raucous applause as she walked in what fashionistas described as 'advanced style'.
She initially walked the runway for label Albus Lumen in a long-sleeved top and black skirt, before returning to the runway for designer Christopher Esber in a chic slip dress and tee.
Lou's appearance on the catwalk at the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) Week follows a rise in mature-age models.
Last year modelling agency Silverfox MGMT Group was established in Sydney, targeting the growing demand for more mature models and championing an age-positive movement in Australia.
New Zealand lingerie brand Lonely Lingerie also recently cast 56-year-old model Mercy Brewer to promote its new autumn-winter 2017 collection.
