Student found with replica gun in CQ school

A STUDENT at Yeppoon State High School allegedly pulled out a replica gun in class yesterday.

It is unknown whether the student used the replica gun in a way to intimidate teachers or students, but it is understood the item was very clearly a toy.

Police media confirmed the incident took place at the school but couldn't reveal any details.

"The matter is being handled internally by the school,” a police media spokesperson said.

"Due to the age of the student we cannot discuss the incident.”

The Morning Bulletin has approached the Queensland Education and Training department for a comment.
