Sounds great: big discount on solo travel surcharge

SOLO travellers now pay only a 25 to 30 per cent single surcharge on normal twin share prices for all Captain Cook Cruises Murray Princess three, four and seven-night cruises.

Previously solo travellers paid the the same cost for their accommodation as a couple.

Julie-Anne Briscoe, marketing manager, SeaLink South Australia said,"A lot of companies charge a 75 per cent or even 100 per cent solo surcharge. We believe offering a surcharge between 25 and 30 per cent is exceptional value for solo travellers."

The Murray Princess herself is ideal for solo travellers. It's a small ship which accommodates up to 120 passengers.

The ship is still big enough for those who just want alone time to find the perfect nook on the open top deck or in the cosy paddle-wheel lounges, and simply enjoy the ever-changing Murray River scenery or get lost in a great book.

Onboard and on-shore activities occur daily and range from playing Bingo to Bocce, visiting riverside towns, cellar doors, a Sheep Shearing Shed Show and even an Aboriginal conservation park. For all activities the passengers remain in a group so solo travellers can feel safe and at ease throughout every experience.

Food is another highlight of the cruise. Indulge in a hearty hot buffet breakfast each morning, a two-course or buffet lunch each day and a three-course or buffet dinner each evening. There is a spectacular Captain's dinner and dance to enjoy and even an Aussie-style barbecue dinner and bush dance on the river bank. All dining is in large group seating and for dinners everyone is assigned to the same table each evening.
