Happy birthday: Songbird Celine Dion turns 49
THE statuesque singing star Celine Dion celebrates her 49th birthday today.
She was born in Quebec, Canada, in 1968, the 14th child in a reportedly happy and very musical family.
Celine wrote her first song at 12 and was soon signed with a manager.
She went on to perform on TV and to live audiences. She even won Eurovision in 1988.
Her first performance for Disney was a duet with Peabo Bryson, singing the pop version of the theme song for the film Beauty and the Beast.
In 2017 she returned to sing the Beauty and the Beast film ballad How Does a Moment Last Forever which is played during the movie's end credits.
Celine married Rene Angelil in December 1994, but lost the love of her life to cancer in January 2016.
It was her husband's foresight that saw her entrenched in The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Los Vegas in 2002.
She performed there on many occasions.
Celine somehow has found time along the way to have three children, all boys.
She's been on the stage for an extraordinary 36 years and has many more years in her.
Last year Celine branched out into the fashion world announcing she would be launching in 2017 clothing, beauty, eyewear, home goods and fashion accessories lines.
