Solo Seeker takes to the Jetty Theatre

AUSTRALIAN music group The Seekers first stormed up the UK charts in 1965 with six Top 10 hits across the decade, including Georgy Girl, The Carnival Is Over, and I'll Never Find Another You.

They were jointly named Australians Of The Year in 1968 and inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 1995. The group's founding guitarist and vocalist, Keith Potger, performs for one show only at the Jetty Memorial Theatre on July 16.

Potger's touring show, An Afternoon With Keith Potger, moves effortlessly through the life and times of Keith Potger as he entertains his audience with anecdotes, songs and music that create images of an international concert and stage career spanning more than 50 years across this matinee session.

The Seekers are known worldwide as concert and recording artists and Keith proudly carries on their legendary ability to hold an audience's attention while performing solo for a 90-minute concert.

Keith's solo performances equally appeal to audiences discovering his music and for those who have been fans of the man for many years.

Potger's program contains some old favourites from The Seekers, a touch of Nashville, some beautiful original ballads from his three solo CDs and a few covers of hits from the '60s to the '80s that appeal to the generation who grew up with their folks playing Seekers albums.

Throughout his show, Keith shares some amusing anecdotes from more than 50 years on the international music scene.

In all, this is an up-beat, heart-warming event that shares the joy of nostalgia and new beginnings that are the hallmarks of Keith Potger's solo concerts.
