Family wish to grieve privately
THE family of Australian backpacker Rye Hunt, who has been confirmed dead in Brazil, wants to be left to grieve in private.
Describing Mr Hunt as "loyal" and "cheeky", Mr Hunt's relatives said the 25-year-old's death was heartbreaking. Clinical tests confirmed the body that washed ashore at Marica on June 8 was Mr Hunt.
He went missing in Rio on May 21.
"We are understandably grief-stricken as we come to terms with the events of the past two weeks and will not be available for comment," the family said.
