Scout puts in the hard yards to win top award
YEARS of hard work and commitment have paid off for Toowoomba's Alex Doyle.
The 18-year-old was awarded the prestigious Queens Scout Award to recognise his efforts as part of the Venturer Scouts.
A member of the Highfields Scout Group, Mr Doyle was required to complete a variety of tasks and challenges during a three-year period to be eligible for the title.
"It's a great honour to be presented the Queens Scout Award," Mr Doyle said.
"There many different things that go into being eligible for the award, so to win it means a lot.
"Seeing my family and friends when I was presented the award was a great feeling as they have supported me all the way."
Highfields assistant Venturers leader Ann-Maree Goulter said she was very proud of Alex's achievement.
"I was delighted for him," she said.
"Alex is a very hard worker and has been a committed member of the Highfields Scout Group."
