Santa hits the ice for a pre-Christmas break

WITH just days left before the big man in red makes his journey around the world delivering gifts to all the good little girls and boys, the last place you'd expect to see him is cutting loose on the ice.

That's exactly were he was on Saturday, beating the heat at Rollerdrome on Ice.

To celebrate the end of the learn-to-skate sessions, Skating Santa donned his boots and pulled his best dance moves on the skating rink at Caloundra.

Rollerdrome On Ice manager, Kat Colledge, said Santa had so much fun he would make an appearance at every skating session until Christmas Eve.

"The kids can get a photo with Santa, and maybe if they're very lucky he might go skating again," she said.

Skating on ice sessions run from 10am-12pm and 2-4pm daily, except for Christmas Day and Boxing Day when the rollerdrome will close.

Learn to skate classes start again on Saturday mornings between 9-10am, from January 7.
