Ruff Riders Charity Ride gives animals a voice

RSPCA ambassador and V8 Supercar champion Craig Lowndes will lead the Ruff Riders Charity Ride on Saturday, March 18.

The sixth annual fundraiser starts at the RSPCA's Brisbane Animal Care Campus at Wacol and travels 300km to a variety of locations throughout South East Queensland.

Motorbike enthusiasts and social riders are invited to come along.

Animal lover Andrew Gough, of Pimpama, has signed up for his sixth Ruff Ride.

"The last two rides have been awesome. The weather's been good," Andrew said.

He says his own sponsorship for the event should reach more than $1000 this year.

Giving animals a "voice" in combating cruelty is his motivation to join the ride.

Registration costs $49 per person, with a $250 fundraising target per bike, ie rider and pillion passenger.

The ride in March runs from 7am to 4pm.
