Rolf Harris planning TV comeback

Rolf Harris plots TV comeback after release from prison

DISGRACED entertainer Rolf Harris is plotting a TV comeback weeks after his release from jail for child-sex offences.

The Sun reports the convicted paedophile has told his team to land him a show to help him rebuild his character.

Aussie Harris, 87, was freed in May after serving three years for historical sex crimes against girls aged between seven and 19.

He had starred in shows including Rolf's Cartoon Time and Animal Hospital.

He has now told family and friends he is "desperate" to work and is "going nuts" at his Berkshire home.

A source said: "Rolf genuinely believes he could still have a career after everything that's gone on.

He told his team to find a TV show that he could front or be involved in as a way of trying to reverse the public's horrendous perception of him.

"They've said they will do all they could but in reality he's seen as untouchable right now."

Artist Harris has been a regular on British television since the 1950s, as well as having a successful music career.

He was arrested in March 2013 and a year later sentenced to five years and nine months in jail.

At the time of his release in May, he was on trial for allegedly indecently assaulting three other girls between 1971 and 1983.

The Sun later revealed that Harris had an audacious bid to stand trial from the comfort of his home rejected by the judge.

He was eventually cleared of the charges after the jury failed to reach a verdict at retrial.

Harris had also been preparing an album of music while serving his sentence in HMP Stafford.
