Stairway to hell: Star gets nasty in dispute with 70s rocker
A NEIGHBOURHOOD dispute has turned nasty when a resident turned to playing loud rock music to aggravate his foe in a dispute over renovations.
Except these are no ordinary neighbours.
Instead, it's a showdown between two of the biggest names in music - Robbie Williams and Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. And the gloves are coming off!
Williams and Page have been locked in a five-year battle since the former Take That star was granted approval to build a basement swimming pool in his home in Holland Park, London.
However, Page is concerned the work will damage his heritage-listed mansion.
But with no end in sight to the deadlock, Williams has allegedly started to turn to more underhanded ways to breach the impasse - and it seems to be having the desired effect.
A letter sent to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea says Williams has been playing Page's "rock arch rival bands Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, and Deep Purple".
"He obviously knows this upsets Mr Jimmy Page," the letter states.
The letter, written by a complainant only known as "Johnny", also alleges Williams dresses up as Page's bandmate Robert Plant.
Williams' team have rubbished the claim as "nonsense".
Williams reportedly cannot begin the renovations until local councillors receive assurances that vibration levels and ground movement issues would be monitored, according to the BBC.
