Roaring Twenties return to Maleny

FOLLOWING a successful tour of Britain, Melissa Western returns to Maleny on Sunday, October 30 with her new show The Roaring Twenties.

The show transforms the community centre into a cabaret style "speakeasy".

Feel free to come dressed in a twenties costume and help build the ambience.

With casual table seating and the speakeasy bar open, bring your own snacks to enjoy and hit the dance floor with the classic jazz hits of the Twenties.

Or just sit back and enjoy the show as Melissa fabulously recreates the work of all the greats - Louis Armstrong, Josephine Baker, Duke Ellington, Bessie Smith, Irving Berlin.

It's at 2pm in the Maleny Community Centre and you can meet the cast afterwards on the deck.

Buggy rides

If you are looking for something different to do when your visitors next come to town, why not book a have a cart ride through the country town of Kenilworth, drawn by a horse called Bailey.

Community supper

Mapleton and other Range residents enjoyed the inaugural community supper in the Mapleton Hall last week where talented multi-instrumentalist, Lee Hardisty performed.

MH Folk who organised the event plan to organise more events and activities at the Hall including markets, a community garden, dances and more.

Range directory

Ads are now being taken for the much-appreciated Flaxton, Mapleton and Montville Business Directory produced annually by the Zonta Club of Blackall Range Inc.

All profits from production of the directory, which lists businesses that service the range, are distributed to support projects such as the Women's Refuges, Blackall Range Care Group, Maleny Neighbourhood.

Rates start at text only ads from $45 for up to three centimetres.

Three thousand copies of The Directory are printed and distributed free to homes and businesses across the range towards the end of each year.
