Blast from the past: Superstar recycles 1962 Oscars dress

WEARING the same outfit twice to the same event is considered one of the biggest fashion faux pas to some.

But if you're style queen Rita Moreno, you can wear the same outfit to the Oscars again if you want to - even if has been 56 years between drinks!

When looking for an outfit for today's 2018 Academy Awards, the 86-year-old star picked a dress that was close to her heart - the dress she wore to the Oscars in 1962.

That was the year she won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as Anita in West Side Story.

This year's dress wasn't exactly the same as in 1962 - a few alterations to the neckline (strapless now with a gorgeous necklace) and some long black gloves - but essentially she was pulling off the same look.

She told People TV she loved the dress: "It's been hanging in my closet and I go and stroke it now and then. I just love - it was an amazing night."

Moreno wasn't the only seniors superstar to make headlines for this year's Oscars.

Helen Mirren, who will present a jet ski to whoever has the shortest acceptance speech, was caught shotting tequilla on the red carpet before the show.

To be fair, if I was Helen Mirren and I was on the red carpet, I'd be getting into the shots too.
